Breathing during physical exercise is crucial for optimizing both performance and health. It increases oxygen supply to the muscles, reduces fatigue, improves focus on execution, and helps prevent injuries.

Although breathing is an involuntary process, it accompanies various actions, emotions, states of tension, sensations of pain and pleasure, enhances speech and singing, and improves visceral functions.
For many people, coordinating exercise with breathing may at first require a great deal of concentration. However, this is one of the principles of the Pilates Method and is considered fundamental for achieving remarkable results in class, such as:
Improved concentration and coordination
Relief from tension and pain
Enhanced athletic performance
Stress reduction
Relaxation
Relief of anxiety symptoms
Better sleep quality
A sense of calm and balance
Breathing well benefits our physical, mental, and emotional health. Every form of physical activity should be guided and supervised by a qualified professional to ensure both safety and effectiveness.
