Improving Muscle Strength

Welcome to the fourth post about my Pilates experiences here in our cozy virtual space.One of the things that draws my attention the most in the practice is muscle strengthening. I care a lot about this because I often carry heavy bags when I go grocery shopping for the month—and I have to lift and bring home everything I bought myself.
Pilates is well known for strengthening muscles, and I absolutely agree. I can feel that the exercises need to be done slowly (sometimes I can't keep up and do some movements too fast, but I know that eventually I’ll get there), and in a controlled way, with a focus on precision. This builds strength over time—and it's something that benefits anyone.
Because of that, Pilates has helped relieve the back pain I usually feel after lifting heavy weights.
